JONATHAN LECUREUX, PHD
Professor of Biology
Educator and Researcher
I've been a passionate educator since I was a kid. I fell in love with science, and now I get to combine my two passions as a professor of biology. I teach a variety of lower and upper level biology courses. I also emphasize active learning in my classroom, using team exercises and learning techniques to ensure my students gain critical thinking and thoughtful analysis skills. In the laboratory I emphasize open-ended scientific inquiry, and use Course-Embedded Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) to ensure students learn how real science is conducted.

My research revolves around pedagogy and microbiology. I am particularly interested in connecting undergraduates with the techniques and skills they need to be successful researchers.
